What's covered in the course?
On this course you’ll learn to approach business management in a proactive, practical and responsible way. We get you to step up your experience with a paid work placement in your final year. It’s designed to fast-track your professional development and help you apply everything you’ve learnt to a real business.
The course teaches you to think creatively about business opportunities and issues, but also gives you invaluable management skills. You’ll take on challenging real-life briefs and learn about effective leadership in business. We guide your learning, so you understand how good management – of teams, individuals and yourself – can positively affect a business.
Throughout the course you’ll explore case studies, briefs and reports from real businesses. Our students have worked with companies such as Marks & Spencer, Skoda and Toys R Us. There’s also the chance to enter industry competitions for real prizes, like start-up funding. Our finalists have presented their work directly to businesses, such as Capgemini headquarters in London.
You’ll spend your third and final year working on a paid work placement where you’ll apply your knowledge to a real business and your own role within it. You’ll get individual support to apply your learning to your organisation and use it as a case study to finish your studies.
Our staff are leaders in their field and many of them still work in industry, so you get current, relevant teaching. They’ve worked with all types of organisations from Zurich International Solutions Europe to British Gas and the AA, working as Marketing Directors and Directors of Investment.
