Karjeros galimybės

Are you interested in energy optimisation, renewable energy in building design, building operations, and indoor climate?
Today, there is great focus on energy use and renewable energy. Consequently, it is expected that the building industry will contribute to creating solutions to the challenges which society meets in connection with restructuring the energy system into 100% renewable energy.
The restructuring into renewable energy creates a number of new challenges - both in regard to reducing the energy demand in existing buildings, implementing renewable energy production, and developing interaction between buildings and the energy supply system. These tasks require graduates who possess a comprehensive understanding of and specialised knowledge about energy design in buildings.

As a Master of Science in Technology in Building Energy Design, you will work with reduction and optimisation of
energy use in buildings through for example application of renewable energy in both design, construction, and
operation.

Throughout the programme, you will obtain specialised knowledge about energy conditions in buildings, and you will learn to combine and integrate solutions for construction, installation, and energy technology with the purpose of creating a cost-effective whole with a minumum of environmental damage.
During the study programme, you will gain an integrated understanding of the relation between energy efficient design of buildings and optimal operation concerning indoor climate, energy consumption, and overall economy.
You will obtain specialised knowledge about energy design in buildings, and you will be able to create cost-effective solutions with minimal environmental impact in terms of design, construction, and HVAC systems.
You will work with the Aalborg method of problem based learning providing you with the opportunity to solve complex real-life work tasks in groups with your fellow students and often in close collaboration with industrial partners.

Kiti reikalavimai

In order to apply, you must hold one of the following undergraduate degrees:

  • Bsc in Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering within the field of Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Architectural Technology and Construction Management
  • Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering or the like.

With a Master of Science in Technology in Building Energy Design, you have plenty of opportunities to find work. Your potential future job title could be for instance

  • project manager
  • specialist
  • energy consultant
  • head of operations

You can work in consulting engineering companies where you can make calculations, choose materials, and supervise the construction. You can also work in large organisations as for instance hospitals and large real-estate companies and municipalities where you can work with the optimisation of the operation of the buildings in relation to both indoor environment and low energy use.

Graduating from Building Energy Design, you will have influence on the environmental development in our future society by working with topics such as energy use and optimisation, alternative energy, computer simulation of energy flux, control of building systems, indoor climate, heating plants, and mechanical and natural ventilation.
