Liberal Arts and Sciences
In the interdisciplinary Bachelor’s program Liberal Arts and Sciences you approach societal challenges from multiple perspectives. By combining insights from a range of scientific disciplines, you discover creative solutions for, and gain an in-depth understanding of complex global issues. You will attend lectures by experts from professional fields such as law, economics, philosophy, sociology, psychology and cognitive neurosciences.
University College Tilburg offers a Liberal Arts and Sciences program that combines different scientific disciplines such as: law, economics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. The intensive program enables you to develop into a critical thinker, a committed citizen and an academically trained professional. You will acquire in-depth insights into complex global issues and learn to develop creative solutions based on an interdisciplinary perspective.
Program structure and content
In the first year you follow a core curriculum that introduces you to the various scientific disciplines. That way, you can discover which discipline appeals to you the most.
In the second year, you specialize by choosing one of the following majors:
- Business and Economics
- Law in an International Context
- Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Arts and Humanities
- Cognitive Neuroscience: Brain and Cognition
The first two years provide a solid foundation.
In the third year you will have the opportunity to follow different electives during a minor program, take online courses, or study abroad. The diverse program allows you to set up your unique and personal profile. You will conclude your study program by writing a Bachelor thesis. Depending on your major, you will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science.

- Focus on the development of relevant skills. For example, entrepreneurial skills, debating skills or skills in handling success and setbacks.
- Pažymių išrašas - jei dar nesi baigęs mokyklos, būtina prisegti pažymių išrašą. Smulkesnę informaciją kaip pildyti išrašą ir kada jis reikalingas, rasi čia.
- Brandos atestatas – jei jau esi baigęs mokyklą, išrašo nereikia, užtenka anketoje prisegti savo Brandos atestatą.
Pastaba:
- Motyvacinis laiškas yra privalomas dokumentas stojant į šio universiteto programas.
- CV - stojant į visas bakalauro programas reikia pateikti savo CV.
- Vienas iš stojimo etapų į Tilburg University yra Matching/Selection procedure (reikės atlikti arba papildomas užduotis, arba pateikti papildomus dokumentus arba sudalyvauti interviu).
SVARBU: anglų kalbos testo sertifikatą privaloma pateikti kartu su visais dokumentais, atsiunčiant anketą. Universitetas nesvarsto stojimo anketų be anglų kalbos testo rezultatų, todėl sertifikatą privaloma pateikti iki stojimo pabaigos. Anglų kalbos žinias gali patvirtinti vienu iš šių būdų:
- IELTS – 6.0, iš kiekvienos dalies ne mažiau nei 5.5
- TOEFL – 80
- CV- stojant į visas programas reikia pateikti savo gyvenimo aprašymą.
Visi, kurie dar nėra pabaigę mokyklos ir į šį universitetą stoja besimokydami 12 klasėje, kartu su pažymių išrašu privalo prisegti ir Statement of Education. Dokumentą privalo užpildyti ir antspauduoti mokyklos atstovas. Norėdami rasti ir atsisiųsti Statement of Education reikia:
- Užsiregistruoti Kastu svetainėje;
- Pradėti pildyti Kastu internetinę stojimo anketą;
- Pridėti dominančią Tilburg University bakalauro programą prie savo pasirinkimų.
Kai atliksite šiuos veiksmus, skiltyje „Dokumentai“ galėsite atsisiųsti Statement of Education.

Liberal Arts and Sciences is a selective program. The application procedure consists of two phases. In the first phase we check your eligibility; in the second phase we assess whether you and the program are a good fit on the basis of an application form and an interview. A positive decision at the end of both phases is required to be able to get admitted to the program.
The following document is part of the second phase and you only need to complete it once you have been conditionally admitted:

- This form combines questions related to your motivation to apply for this program, with a short essay.
- This form will be used as the basis for the admission interview.
What can you do with a Liberal Arts and Sciences degree?
- A policy advisor is responsible for creating policy relating to culture or science for example, and making sure it's carried out in the organization. You analyze problems, create a plan to improve and propose that plan to management. You are also responsible for the implementation of new policy, and advising others on the application of policy.
- As a business consultant, you advise businesses and organizations on how to improvement their processes. Think, for example, of improving company culture in the business, or finding the right visual representation of an organization's values. You analyse a problem, often from an outsider perspective, and provide possible solutions. Sometimes you help an organization implement these solutions as well.
- A researcher is always looking for answers to questions raised in society, science, businesses, or government. You spot a problem and start looking for solutions to that problem. With your insight and findings, you are always working on improving society.
Graduates go on to work, for example, at the European Commission, Plan International, ASML or PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
