You will learn everything about the many different production processes, so you can help improve and renew them. Your interest in technology and science will very much come in handy here. After completing this international (English-language variant) degree programme, you will be ready to work anywhere in the world. Where will you make the most impact?
To improve the processes, you first have to know them well. That is why in the first year you learn, for example, how to make cheese, brew beer, purify water and develop chemical products. You can immediately put everything you learn in these chemistry classes into practice. In the process, you develop some initial ideas: how can it be done smarter, faster or cleaner? Then you are ready for the next step: how do you design safe and sustainable production processes? To learn this, you will work with existing companies and organizations that want to upgrade their systems. Together with your project group, you work on simulation software for risk management and you look at promising and sustainable innovations. In the first year, you will also work on your communication skills and receive academic career coaching.
In the final year of the degree programme, you specialize: you will focus strictly on the chemical or on the food side. In the first semester, you deepen your knowledge of your chosen field with working groups, lectures and projects. Are you focusing on processes in the food industry? Then you could be working on functional foods such as cholesterol-lowering margarine, for example. If you choose to specialize in chemical process technology, you could be working with catalysis to generate as few emissions as possible. And then the moment has come: in the final semester of the 3-year Process & Food Technology degree programme, you graduate by completing an assignment project at a company. You apply everything you have learned in the previous years to your graduation thesis, your presentation and thesis defense.

Visi, kurie dar nėra pabaigę mokyklos ir į šį universitetą stoja besimokydami 12 klasėje, kartu su pažymių išrašu privalo prisegti ir dokumentą, kuriame būtų nurodyti planuojami laikyti brandos egzaminai. Dokumentą turi patvirtinti mokyklos administracija. Egzaminų formą rasi ČIA.
You could be a process technologist working on a new type of recyclable plastic for Sigma Aldrich Amsterdam or GE plastics in Bergen op Zoom. You could also apply for numerous jobs in the FMCG industry. But as a young professional, you do much more. You’ll discover the culture at your company and what the profession does on a daily basis. You’ll attend meetings and company parties. You’ll also learn all there is to know about your market - the latest developments, the competition and what they do. Of course you can also continue your education worldwide at the master’s level.
The multidisciplinary nature of PFT means that you’ll be attractive to employers from all kinds of industries and many of the skills you obtain are transferrable to different professions.
You might, of course, be more academically inclined and choose to continue your education at master’s level - in The Netherlands or abroad. It’s important to note that bachelor students on PFT must complete a one-year pre-master’s programme before being admitted to a master’s level programme. The most prestigious master’s for chemical engineering and food technology in the Netherlands are offered by the Delft University of Technology and Wageningen University. Examples of Dutch master’s programmes our alumni have taken include Food Safety, Development and Rural Innovation and Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management. Outside of the Netherlands, they have joined Denmark University of Technology (advanced Chemical Engineering) and The University of Edinburgh (Management of Bioeconomy, Innovation and Governance). PFT graduates have also taken master’s in Finland, Denmark, England, Belgium and many other countries.
Tu laukei ilgai. Kantriai žaidei pagal taisykles, kurios buvo ne tavo. Tu laukei. Ir sulaukei. Mokyklos era baigiasi. Šiandien jau Tavęs laukia pasaulis. Kur skrisi? Kur mokysiesi? Kur linksminsiesi? Kur atrasi naujus draugus? Kur iš naujo atrasi save?...
