Focus on the dynamics between individuals, groups, and society in International Sociology. You study social themes such as migration, cultural differences, poverty, and inequality while connecting these themes to politics and policy. Depending on your ambitions and interests, you will choose a specialization in your second year: either Culture in Comparative Perspective or Social Risks in a Changing World. This Bachelor's program uses a comparative perspective on the Western world.

The Bachelor's program in International Sociology focuses on the dynamics between individuals, groups and society. You study social themes such as migration, cultural differences, and poverty and inequality while connecting these themes to politics and policy. You have the opportunity to personalize your study in 4 ways: with a specialization, internship, study abroad, or minor. International Sociology uses a comparative perspective on the Western world.

During the program, you put your knowledge into practice to prepare for your career. You conduct exploratory sociological research and also complete an internship. On top of that, this program offers the possibility to study abroad without study delay.

Why International Sociology in Tilburg?
  • This flexible program offers you the chance to choose one of two specializations in which Tilburg excels: ‘Culture in Comparative Perspective’ or ‘Social Risks in a Changing World’.
  • If you choose International Sociology in Tilburg, you not only pick a quality academic program, but you also learn how to put your knowledge into practice. You will learn how to deal with current and relevant issues and how to work on these issues during and after your studies. This program offers a comparative, international perspective on the Western world.
  • In this small-scale, international program you will quickly get to know your fellow students and easily contact lecturers. One of the lecturers will become your personal study mentor, whom you will meet regularly throughout your studies to discuss your study progress, interests, ambitions, and career opportunities.
  • In this program, you will pay a lot of attention to your personal and professional growth, preparing for your career. You will have the opportunity to do an internship in the third year, and through PASS, the program also pays attention to professional skills. Reikalaujamas išsilavinimas
  • Pažymių išrašas - jei dar nesi baigęs mokyklos, būtina prisegti pažymių išrašą. Smulkesnę informaciją kaip pildyti išrašą ir kada jis reikalingas, rasi čia.
  • Brandos atestatas – jei jau esi baigęs mokyklą, išrašo nereikia, užtenka anketoje prisegti savo Brandos atestatą.

  • Motyvacinis laiškas yra privalomas dokumentas stojant į šio universiteto programas.
  • CV - stojant į visas bakalauro programas reikia pateikti savo CV. 
  • Vienas iš stojimo etapų į Tilburg University yra Matching/Selection procedure (reikės atlikti arba papildomas užduotis, arba pateikti papildomus dokumentus arba sudalyvauti interviu).

 

 

Anglų kalbos reikalavimai

SVARBU: anglų kalbos testo sertifikatą privaloma pateikti kartu su visais dokumentais, atsiunčiant anketą. Universitetas nesvarsto stojimo anketų be anglų kalbos testo rezultatų, todėl sertifikatą privaloma pateikti iki stojimo pabaigos. Anglų kalbos žinias gali patvirtinti vienu iš šių būdų:

  • IELTS – 6.0, iš kiekvienos dalies ne mažiau nei 5.5
  • TOEFL – 80

  • A good knowledge of mathematics is important for being successful in this Bachelor’s program.
  • Mathematics up until your final year in high school.
Kiti reikalavimai
  • CV- stojant į visas programas reikia pateikti savo gyvenimo aprašymą.
  • Visi, kurie dar nėra pabaigę mokyklos ir į šį universitetą stoja besimokydami 12 klasėje, kartu su pažymių išrašu privalo prisegti Statement of Education. Formą rasi ČIA.
What can you do with an International Sociology degree?

By specializing in one of two majors, you will choose the field in which you would like to be employed. Graduates of International Sociology are employed in various professions:

  • As a researcher at a market research agency or commercial organization you will investigate which aspects play a role in social issues and how they change over time. The results of the research contribute to a possible solution or advice.
  • As a policy advisor for a municipality or ministry you are aware of the various issues involved in policy making. For example, you might give advice on a particular program run by the government. Was it effective? Were there problems? Your advice will be used to make decisions. You look at ways to implement policies when they have been approved.  
  • As a data analyst in government, a research firm, or in business, you collect, verify, and interpret data. You process the data and convert it into information. Based on your work, policies are made and decisions are taken.

Graduates found work at the Ministry of Public Health, Welfare and Sport, Aarhus University, the Dutch Labor Inspectorate, newspaper NRC, Research agency IPSOS, ING, Philips and Ahold N.V.
