Geographers at Chester are as likely to be analysing earth surface materials or studying cultural interpretations of landscape, as to be using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to plan a solar farm or mapping the carbon footprint of a rural community. All this ensures you will develop the skills needed by a wide range of employers.

Those combined honours students pursuing a career in the sport and exercise employment sector often find the applied aspects of the degree most useful when it comes to gaining employment. Previous graduates work in professional sports clubs and organisations as sport science support staff, others have gone into health promotion, teaching amongst other areas.
The knowledge, skills and understanding you will gain during the course will allow you to pursue a wide range of careers. Our graduates work in professions across a range of sectors, including environmental management, consultancy, teaching, town planning, renewable energy, sustainability, flood risk management and surveying. Some of our graduates continue their studies and go on to gain PhDs, masters degrees and professional qualifications. We use our extensive alumni network to further support our programme with guest lectures, work placements, careers events and more.
