Green Chemistry (3 year)
Our innovative 3-year international Green Chemistry programme equips you with the expertise to drive sustainable chemical practices and address global environmental challenges. Developed by industry experts, the programme covers energy-efficient processes, circular processes, and alternative green chemicals for greener industrial practices. You’ll gain hands-on lab experience and explore resource efficiency and sustainability in chemistry.
Our international programme connects you to green technologies, preparing you for careers in sustainability-focused industries. Plus, the Emmen campus offers a supportive, personal atmosphere, with a dedicated study coach to guide you through your studies.
Green Chemistry in practice
Throughout the Green Chemistry track, you will work on hands-on projects in collaboration with industry partners, applying your knowledge to real-world environmental and sustainability challenges. We believe in learning by doing through our Design-Based Education (DBE) approach, ensuring that you graduate with a strong academic foundation, applied research skills, and valuable practical experience.
From early on in the programme, you will conduct laboratory experiments focusing on sustainable chemical processes and resource-efficient methodologies, such as developing eco-friendly materials or exploring biocatalysis techniques. These projects allow you to investigate circular processes and alternative green chemicals while working closely with instructors and professionals in the field.
This practical approach refines your problem-solving abilities and equips you with the critical thinking skills necessary to adapt to the dynamic demands of sustainable chemistry. By addressing real-world issues, you’ll gain first-hand experience in creating solutions for a more sustainable future.
Pastaba:
- Motyvacinis laiškas yra privalomas dokumentas stojant į šio universiteto programas.
- CV - stojant į visas bakalauro programas reikia pateikti savo CV.
You must have had the subjects mathematics as well as chemistry in your curriculum (all years) and/or the subjects are listed as an exam subject on your final grade list. If you obtained a High School Diploma and you passed a combination of related subjects with a sufficient grade, then you also have a chance to be admitted to the programme.
Careers open to you after graduation include:
- Research Scientist: conduct innovative research in academic or industrial settings, focusing on sustainable materials, biochemistry, and green chemical processes
- Product Developer: create and test new sustainable materials or products, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovations to market
- Quality Control Specialist: ensure products meet regulatory and quality standards while promoting the use of sustainable practices in production
- Environmental Chemist: study the effects of chemicals on the environment and develop methods to minimize pollution and promote sustainable practices
- Sustainability Consultant: advise companies on sustainable practices, helping them implement eco-friendly processes and reduce their environmental impact
- Regulatory Affairs Specialist: navigate the complex regulations surrounding chemical safety and sustainability, ensuring compliance for products and processes
- Teaching and Education: share your knowledge of green chemistry principles by teaching at schools or universities, inspiring the next generation of scientists
- Entrepreneur: start your own business focused on sustainable products or services, contributing to the circular economy and promoting eco-friendly practices
- Government or Nonprofit Sector Roles: work with government agencies or NGOs focused on environmental protection & policy-making, and promoting sustainable practices
